这首歌是Green Day 2009全新专辑《21st Century Breakdown》的第二支主打单曲，依然像《wake me up when September ends》一样是一首反战歌曲。据网上说是变形金刚2的插曲。

2005年的《American Idiot》专辑距今已经四年了。还是那个味儿！！这是我目前唯一还在听的朋克乐队了，毕竟green day和manson一起伴随了我整个混乱的中学时代。他们这次依然没叫人失望，虽然朋克味减少了许多，但是依然震撼，对各种社会问题的关注和抨击依然犀利。

专辑的第18首歌《American eulogy》听起来是那么的像2000年专辑《Warnning》里的《Deadbeat holiday》。。。有人说是他们江郎才尽了，可是这才是green day的风格。一个风格鲜明的乐队才能让人记住。那些摇摆不定的、听到什么好就往歌曲里加什么的往往会把自己的作品搞得四不像，这是三流乐队的做法。
